On Trend Plants – These are the World’s Most Instagrammable Houseplants

Looking for Instagrammable Plants? In our opinion, all plants are beautiful – but there are some that are more popular than others. With houseplants popping up all over the place on Instagram, there are some clear trends for certain types of plants.

So, if you want the most Instagrammable plants, you have some great ones to choose from. Here are just a few of our favourites:

Swiss Cheese Plant (Monstera Deliciosa)

This is a big one! It was hugely popular in the 70’s and is now back in fashion. It has a retro look with huge, eye-catching glossy leaves.

Be warned before you invest in a Swiss Cheese Plant – they grow pretty big. You’ll need a large space to make it feel really at home.

Chinese Money Plant (Pilea Peperomioide)

This plant has several nicknames – the Chinse Money Plant, the UFO Plant, the Pancake Plant – and it’s a popular plant, for good reason. It’s a great plant for beginners as it’s pretty low maintenance, and it has lovely round leaves. It’s also super easy to propagate from cuttings, so you can pass on baby plants to your friends and family with ease.

Snake Plant (Dracaena Trifasciata)

Another super laid back, low-maintenance plant, the Snakeplant has tall, pointed leaves that look really beautiful in every setting. It’s nearly impossible to kill a Snakeplant, so it makes a great gift for that person in your life that can’t seem to keep plants alive. Don’t overwater it, and you’ll be good to go. Plus, it’s good for purifying the air in your home.

String of Pearls (Curio Rowleyanus)

If you’re after a trailing plant, consider the beautiful String of Pearls. The tiny, round leaves are very distinctive, and they look pretty, distinctive, and elegant on windowsills or plant stands. They love a lot of light, so you’ll have to bear that in mind before you buy one – they really thrive in conservatories, for example.

Spider Plant (Chlorophytum Comosum)

With thin, almost papery leaves, Spider Plants are really adaptable, friendly-looking plants which can survive a bit of neglect. It’s perfect if you want something that is going to dangle elegantly atop a piece of furniture or a plant stand.

Jade Plant (Crassula Ovata)

Jade Plants actually look like small trees. They can grow as large as four feet tall, and they look beautiful. They’re an investment plant – they can last for years and years with proper care. They can even be passed down through generations. With nicknames like ‘friendship plant’ and ‘lucky plant’, they make a very meaningful gift for a loved one.

Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)

Peace Lilies are renowned for their air purifying properties, so they’re ideal if you live in an urban environment. They’re low maintenance, very adaptable, and absolutely beautiful when flowering. They offer elegant greenery all year round, and again, they make a very special gift for others.
